Mad Men: The smoking pitch

In the thinking skills class we had watch the scene of the episode “The smoking pitch” Mad Men. The setting is in an office inside the Lucky Strike company. Some business are having a discussion about the advertising techniques of the company.
When we watched the episode we could identify some vested interest like for example, this company has something to gain from promoting and defending a particular point of view, they select certain evidence and ignore other so that distort the evidence to benefit themselves. In the episode the mens are hiding the evidences that proves that the cigarettes are unhealthy.

However, Dom’s idea that was accepted that suggests a advertising which says “Lucky Strike, it’s toasted”. The other companies produce the same products so if they say that their Tobacco is healthy and the others are the ones that are unhealthy.
